The BMW F 700 GS also sports a water cooled, 4 stroke, in line, two cylinder engine with two overhead camshafts, four valves per cylinder and dry sump lubrication. The unit is mated to a constant mesh six speed transmission and develops a maximum power of 55 KW (75 Hp) at 7,300 Rpm and 57 Lb/Ft (77Nm) of torque at 5,300 Rpm.
